The Whispers of Cappadocia Experience
The Whispers of Cappadocia tour focuses on the quieter, more intimate side of the region. Over five days, riders explore valleys, villages and ancient paths where nature and history blend subtly — far from crowded viewpoints and busy tourist routes. This tour is about slowing down and listening to the land, discovering Cappadocia through rhythm, movement and silence.
Riding days are carefully balanced, offering meaningful distances without the physical demands of longer expeditions. Routes include soft volcanic terrain, rolling valleys and scenic ridgelines, allowing riders to stay comfortable while still experiencing the depth of a true multi-day horseback journey.
Designed by endurance champion Ercihan Dilari and operated by Horseback Riding Turkey, this tour reflects an ethical approach to long-distance riding. Horses are well-trained, fit and carefully matched to each rider, while small group sizes ensure personal attention and flexible pacing throughout the journey.
Evenings are spent in locally owned accommodations, where riders can rest, enjoy regional cuisine and reflect on the day’s ride. By combining riding, culture and quiet exploration, the Whispers of Cappadocia tour offers one of the most refined short multi-day horseback riding experiences in Cappadocia.

Your journey begins with arrival at either Kayseri Erkilet Airport or Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport, depending on your flight schedule. After landing, you will be met by our transfer service and taken to your hotel in the riverside town of Avanos.
Once settled, you may relax at the hotel or enjoy a short walk through the town, famous for its pottery traditions and Red River views. In the evening, we meet for our first group dinner together with your riding guide, where you receive a short briefing about the riding days ahead.
(Dinner included)
After a traditional Turkish breakfast, we transfer to our ranch in Avanos to meet the horses and prepare for the ride. Saddles are checked and fresh water is packed into the saddlebags before departure.
Our trail follows the riverside paths of Avanos, crossing the bridge to the opposite bank of the Kızılırmak (Red River). We continue through quiet farmlands toward the rural area of Çayağıl, offering wide open views and peaceful riding conditions.
From here, the route leads into Ak Valley (Love Valley), one of Cappadocia’s most iconic landscapes, known for its tall fairy chimneys and soft valley tracks. We stop here for a picnic lunch surrounded by unique volcanic formations.
After lunch, we mount up again and continue riding back toward the ranch. Depending on the group’s riding level and pace, we return either to our Göreme ranch or directly to our Avanos ranch, allowing flexibility for comfort and experience level.
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)
Following breakfast, we return to the ranch in Avanos to prepare the horses for a full day of valley riding. Once ready, we set off into the heart of Cappadocia’s most famous landscapes.
Our first section passes through Güllüdere (Rose Valley), where soft pink and beige rock formations create a peaceful atmosphere. From there, we continue into Kızılçukur (Red Valley), famous for its deep red cliffs and winding trails.
Lunch is enjoyed as a picnic inside the valley, surrounded by towering rock walls and fairy chimneys. After lunch, we ride toward the Ortahisar Panorama, where we stop to admire views of Ortahisar Castle and the surrounding valleys.
The route then climbs to Ak Tepe, a high ridge offering panoramic views across Cappadocia, often reaching the same altitude as passing hot air balloons. We descend toward Paşabağı (Monks Valley), home to Cappadocia’s most dramatic multi-headed fairy chimneys.
In the late afternoon, we return to our ranch in Avanos, completing a day rich in scenery, elevation, and unforgettable riding experiences.
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)
After breakfast, we once again prepare the horses and begin our ride toward Sarıhıdır, a small riverside village known for fishing and rural life.
The trail follows the banks of the Red River (Kızılırmak), combining relaxed riding with short canter sections where conditions allow. Along the way, the guide photographs the group, capturing the highlights of the ride.
Upon reaching Sarıhıdır, we give the horses time to cool down by the river before enjoying a picnic lunch in the shade of trees.
On the return journey, we pass a well-preserved 13th-century Seljuk caravanserai, once used by Silk Road traders crossing Anatolia. By late afternoon, we return to the ranch and transfer back to the hotel.
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included)
After a final traditional Turkish breakfast, guests prepare for departure. Checkout time is at noon, and transfers are arranged according to flight schedules.
Those with later flights may relax in the hotel lobby or enjoy a last walk through Avanos before leaving Cappadocia behind.
(Breakfast included)
